Department: Biological Sciences
Undergrad: James Madison University
My main research interest is in the field of microbiology. I enjoy working in a lab setting and learning about microbes and the significance of their functions. I want to be able to contribute more towards developing our understanding of what is currently unknown, which is why I have chosen to attend graduate school. I also hope to one day serve as a mentor to others who also want to further pursue science. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time outdoors and reading.
Fun fact: I enjoy trying new foods.

I enjoy research and the pursuit of knowledge. My research interests include bacteria and how they evolve and adapt in response to their environment. In my free time I enjoy going to live shows for music or theatre. I also enjoy going to the farmer’s market and finding and trying new seasonal fruits. I look forward to independently researching and sharing science with everyone. One day I hope to work with others on helping to foster an environment that will help increase the amount of diversity in the STEM fields.
Fun Fact: I averaged going to a live show, for various bands or singers, twice a month last year.
